Commission for a work mate.
And I always thought I didn't look like a Dominic...?
This made me laugh so much:
Dominic Myers writes about all sorts of stuff to do with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a fair chunk of self-indulgent stuff. Thoughts and opinions are all his own, and nothing to do with any employer.
Commission for a work mate.
And I always thought I didn't look like a Dominic...?
This made me laugh so much:
I'd been having a fair bit of trouble getting the right-pointing guillemet (») to print from a javascript.
It used to work a treat on a page I did for NECT but since I updated Opera it stopped working (needless to say it had also stopped working in Internet Explorer as well).
What was happening?
The script I was using needed 3 instances of the right-pointing guillemet to be printed on the screen depending upon different circumstances. As I said, it used to work, but then it started printing », which was a bit of a bugger!
So I replaced » with »; which didn't bloody work either!
ARSE !
I was getting right naffed off as you can imagine so I tried placing each character of the entity code with its html entity code and that just printed out a whole long string of entity codes...
Then I read this and decided that I needed to try Unicode because: "Unicode provides a unique number for every character, no matter what the platform, no matter what the program, no matter what the language.".
(Each time I edit this page the nice HTML character codes get replaced with a proper right-pointing guillemet... so I'm gonna try to stop editing it )
Anyway, the Unicode is something like \u00BB
I want one of these, I really do need one of these, they're tiny little washing machines that use no electricity and would be just too cool for me living on a boat... and not wanting to go to the laundrette for fear of being accosted by some piss head.
This one is from Lehmen's and is called the "Wonder Clean".
But this one is from the Laundry Alternative and is called the Wonder Wash.
Lehman's is cool but I'm not overly sure about their shipping policy though...
I got the free version of Morpheus Photo Morpher off of a cover disk and have been playing. These pictures of the kids are well old so should be reasonably safe I reckon. and I like how their faces aren't all that different really:
This is one of me, believe it or not , I think I was a little the worse for wear:
After visiting Crick I saw some lamps and then came across this site: Den Haan, I wonder if they sell to the UK direct?
I'm still playing with putting Linux on my laptop and to that end I've been collecting a load of RSS entries. They are here thanks to google reader.
I've submitted this to DA as well.
A client required that thumbnails be generated and placed equidistant from the edges of a square of a given size, depending on the aspect ratio of the image - that is to say that if the image was a landscape then it should be the same width of the square while being placed in the vertical middle. After checking any number of resources I couldn't find an appropriate script so I rolled my own. I'm pretty pleased with it and you're more than welcome to have it from here.
You can view the script as a PDF here.
If you make alterations, and more importantly improvements, please do let me know.
Take it easy.
WOW!!! Gotta get me one of these:
